A customer can be a very very small business with only one director/employee who needs all the admin, payroll and finance functions carried out to leave them free to do what they are good at.

A customer can also be a much larger organisation which finds that it has a big project to do but everybody is too busy to do it - such as organising a mailshot, or collating and analysing the results of a survey.
